The 2025 FRC season is in full swing! Help us improve throughout this season by donating!
Meet the 2025 bot (Bob)! Bringing a bot to life always comes with some trials and tribulations; we were not short of those this year! Our bot consists of a swerve drive chasiss, and an elevator system to lift coral into sections two, three, and four of the reef. We also have brand new swerve pods. Compared to last year, we have upgraded to Neo Vortex motors. To improve our robot, we designed eight custom-made 3D printed parts with many revisions. We are grateful for the donation of our 3D printer from The Queen's Mens Club.
As the season began, our programmers faced one main issue: the wheels would not turn properly. Our programmers tried everything they could to make this program work. Two weeks before the first competition of the season, the program was finally running correctly. They reached out to a programming coach from the Northwest Mountie Bots. After countless attempts leading to failure, they realized that all they really needed to do was redownload the code. Although it was a simple fix, its still a simple lesson on how the smallest things can improve our quality! Moving forward, our programmers are remembering to periodically redownload their code in order to keep it working.
Going into this year's season, we have one main goal: improving our quality control in all aspects. Our build, and electrical teams are prime examples of how we are achieving our goal. Our build team is working hard in joint with the electrical team to make our wiring beneath the bot stays organized in order to keep extra weight from being added and make our wires more accessible for quick matinence between matches. Compared to our bot last year, there is loads of improvment. Last years wires were very hard to access and very messy. It makes a huge difference!
